Sarah has many years’ experience in the Passive Fire Sector with an impressive track record of managing successful high value projects and client relationships.
We spoke to Sarah to find out what led her to her current role as Director of Proventus Fire Solutions
I was fortunate enough that Proventus found me. I was looking for a new challenge and the day I decided to get my CV out there, I received a call about this role that same day. James (MD of MJ Ferguson) had been looking for someone to head up a new passive fire business for some time, we met shortly after and it felt like a great fit for both of us from the start.
I started off in the construction industry over 16 years ago, I worked for my families business which is where I learned the majority of what I know in relation to running a business. I worked across all departments to include accounts, helpdesk, Facilities Management, M&E, Business Development and Passive Fire. This gave me the experience I needed that has led me where I am today, an opportunity to see all aspects of how a business operates is an opportunity not many individuals get.
I then moved on to work for a Passive Fire Business and worked my way up the ranks until I felt it was time for a new challenge, then Proventus came along and I feel I’ve landed in exactly the right place at the right time.
It’s a new business so you’ll have to ask me again in a few months, however as I entered the business a few months ago and have been surrounded by the team at MJ Ferguson I couldn’t be happier. Everyone has been welcoming, understanding and helpful. One of the most important parts of a business for me is ‘the feel’ of it, when you walk into the office it’s full of conversation and laughter, an immediate sign of a happy work place.
Where to start, the industry has completely changed, especially since the tragic event that occurred at Grenfell Tower and of course for the better. Strict legislation has been implemented which demands a service of a high standard, something we’re proud to say we deliver here at Proventus.
I have three children, 14, 13 and 3 who all love their sports so if I’m not on a touch line watching my son play football or watching my daughter Boxing then I’m running around after a toddler or at the Gym. I also have three rescue dogs so I’m often out walking of an evening. It sounds like a mad house but I genuinely wouldn’t have it any other way!
